Our Grandy

Our neighbor, Grandy is sick.  It's so hard for even us adults to understand.  Sickness and Death are crazy things.  Grandy has alzheimer's, fell last week, and has not recovered.  She's home with hospice and living what seems to be her final days.

Grandy has been the BEST neighbor any little boy could dream of!  Ever since Bubba was old enough to walk, he knew who to visit for lollipops!  He was the cutest thing, waddling on over to Grandy's house for a pop!

Then, as he got older, he'd take a blankie and a book because he KNEW Grandy and DaddyJoe would stop what they were doing and read to him.

Grandy has spent many hours rocking on her front porch.  It's hard to imagine a day when we don't see her out front.  Even our friends know Grandy, and immediately run over to get their lollipops!

And, "Saint DaddyJoe" has not left her side!  He is truly a hero of mine!

Here's to their 50+ years of beautiful marriage and love!  We love our Grandy and DaddyJoe!

Precious Girlfriends!

It just so happens that every time Bubba hangs out with Reed, Sissy gets to hang out with Reed's sis, Pakee!   My sweet 3 year old is in heaven, playing with a 4 year old!  Miss Jane, their mom, is preggo with me, and I keep telling her she HAS to have a boy so all 3 of our kiddos match up!

Because my child(ren) is too daring, I made her wear a life jacket at the Oceanfront.  The waves were huge!

Sissy was laughing so hard at Pakee trying to pull her in dry sand!

Bubba's Best Buddy

Bubba's best buddy, Jackson, was in town for the weekend.  Like always, they were inseparable.

Jackson took a HUGE liking to the Paper Airplane book too!

We can't wait til you come back in July, JMan!

The POOL is OPEN!

We've waited 8 months for it!  This past weekend, our neighborhood pool opened.  Bubba squealed after his first jump, "This is like a dream come true!".

Sissy's excited too!  After 2 years of working my tail off getting her to swim alone, I've gotten lazy!  Sissy is wearing a life jacket as of yet because my lazy, pregnant self wants to sit in a chair!

Bubba's buddy, Reed, came along this weekend too!

Week 21

I've seen this blurry-business on several blogs this week, so something must be going on with Blogger.  Sorry!

Also, it's Wednesday and I totally didn't know it!  I will be back for What We Wore Wednesday next week.  Sorry for any disappointment.  Memorial Day Monday threw me for a loop!

The Best Books EVER, in my humble opinion!

I am so impressed with the Usborne Books that I actually am trying to sell 40 dollars more worth of them! I PROMISE you that you won't regret buying them! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!

To order, click here. You will receive your books within a week!  Also, the website is a little overwhelming because you can search ANY book you want!  Maybe go to the top 50 sellers, or simply type in the titles of Bubba's and Sissy's favs.  If you spend $40, you'll get free (AWESOME) books too, FYI!

Bubba has not put this book down.  It is a HOW TO book on paper airplanes.

There are 4 different designs and LOTS of papers to go along with it.

Bubba chooses his paper:

Then, gets to work:

He follows the picture instructions:

And, he creates his VERY OWN Bug Paper Airplane!

Sissy's favorite is her Market book.  We have a weekly market in our neighborhood, so it's fun for her to pretend.

There are 4 little books that talk about what all the animals purchase at the market.

She moves them around from vendor to vendor!

Bubba's next fav is his learning how to draw book.

And, what 6 year old doesn't love to learn about Science!  This book answers lots of hard questions!!!!

The best thing about Usborne is that most books (80%) are cheaper than $10!

This REMINDER sits at my kitchen window.

This new vase sits at my kitchen window.  Sara gave it to me a couple weeks ago at Ashley's Shower!  I must admit, I thought it was a snowman at first (turn it straight up, and you'd agree!).   *As a disclaimer, my mama raised me with very nice things.  I just seem to be dumb!  She also taught me to dress nice and apply makeup, and I fail at those 2 things most days as well!*

Anyway, my snowman vase makes me smile every day.  It reminds me of what's to come for our family of FIVE!
